There is a project that requires students to be able to say
what the crease pattern is for 2, 3, and 4 folds. When I read the folding
handout for the first time, I didn’t understand what is the meaning of “Some of the
creases point vertex up, some down”, so I was stuck there. Then I look up other
material- the mentioned website- I know that the paper would have a single
crease in a direction you might want to call “up” or "down", if you
were to unfold the strip of paper. So, next, I easily recorded the crease
patterns:
2 folds: up down down
3 folds: up up down down
up down down
4 folds: up up down up
up down down down up up down down up down down
